Come down and check out Automatic Slims stimulus package on Friday nights, with an open bar from 9pm to 11pm. Automatic Slims is a fifties throwback bar with a modern twist. With pool tables and good looking bartenders, it is definitely a must for a Friday night in Ft. Lauderdale. Slims is located at 15 W Las Olas Blvd.

Diamonds and Vodka?

Club goers and bars hoppers alike will want to take notice of new pair hitting clubs and bars in South Florida. The flashy new couple is one most wouldn’t think to pair together, but diamonds and vodka just might be the new power duo.

Illinois-based Diamond Beverages recently introduced Diamond Standard Vodka. What makes DSV different? Well primarily that this premium vodka uses a girl’s best friend as part of its proprietary filtration process.

Diamond Beverages uses an expensive filtration process involving thousands of De Beers diamonds. While not too much information is available as of yet, South Floridians and travelers looking to sip on something new should get a kick out of the presentation bottle.

ROBOTS: The Interactive Exhibition

Robots have taken over the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science. ROBOTS: The Interactive Exhibition will be on display through September 7, 2009. The exhibit will be displaying many of the 20th Century Fox animated film. The exhibit is an all around enjoyable and educational family outing, and is sure to be a hit with young future scientists and engineers. About Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. The forts took their name from Major William Lauderdale, who was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort.However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. Three forts named “Fort Lauderdale” were constructed; the first was at the fork of the New River, the second at Tarpon Bend, in what is now known as the Sailboat Bend neighborhood, and the third near the site of the Bahia Mar Marina.
