Robots have taken over the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science. ROBOTS: The Interactive Exhibition will be on display through September 7, 2009. The exhibit will be displaying many of the 20th Century Fox animated film. The exhibit is an all around enjoyable and educational family outing, and is sure to be a hit with young future scientists and engineers. There be something for everyone in the family to enjoy with over 15 interactive presentations, some highlights are:

  • Robot Explorers – By selecting options from a touch screen, visitors will be able to build a robotic probe. The visitor will also have control over the mission of their newly constructed probe. They will have a choice to explore one of three environments: underwater, deep space, or Mars.
  • Crosstown Express – A 3D screen will be your window into the world of Robot City, and a huge metal ball will be your transport. Visitors will feel like they are part of the action, with gusts of wind and the authentic sensation of twisting and turning down the winding track of Robot City.
  • Movie Star Robots Hall of Fame - Visitors will be star struck by many of their favorite robots from movies like, Forbidden Planet, Star Wars, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and more!
  • Build-A-Wonder-Bot – Visitors take on a hands approach in this display. Family members can sit at a variety of work benches and work on partially completed robots by following provided instructions and spare parts. The robot will then be able perform its specific function.

Other features of the exhibition range from programing an actual robotic arm that is used in Ford auto factories, remote controlled robots, and robots that that are shaping the future and changing our world. What better way is there to end a day exploring robots then to see them larger then life on 5 story high screen. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is now showing at the Auto Nation IMAX3D Theater located adjacent to the Museum.
